How can I get the most money for my car?

There are a few factors that go into what you’ll get for your junk car. Newer cars in better condition can get more money, because the parts can be resold. Large cars, such as trucks or SUVs, also take in more money because of the amount of steel on the vehicle. One unrelated thing that may impact the value of the car is the season. Summer time can often see better prices, as there is a larger demand for scrap metal for construction. But winter is also a good time to sell if you have a winter-weather vehicle that can handle the roads. 

What do I need to junk my car?

We make it as easy as possible to junk your car. All we ask for is either the title or registration and your license. We need proof that you own the vehicle, as we cannot accept ones not in your name. 

What should I do before selling my junk car?

Before selling your junk car, make sure to clear out the vehicle of any personal belongings and to remove the license plates. Then get your paperwork in order and let the DMV and your insurance know that you no longer own the car. 

Should I donate my junk car or sell it?

This is an entirely personal decision and one is not better than the other. However, we recommend that if you want to donate the car, you instead sell it to us or another junk car buyer and then donate the money you get from the sale. Unless your junk car can still be driven, the charity is likely just going to sell it to someone like us for cash anyway. Selling to us and donating it cuts out the middleman.

Is Cash for Clunkers still active?

Cash for Clunkers was a government program that ran from July to August of 2009. It is not still an active government program, but plenty of dealers will still buy your junk car for cash.
